Last season, Hudler was consistantly the team’s whipping boy. This season didn’t start that much better, being sat early in the season. Hudler’s future looked like he’d be trade bait at best for Detroit.
Well things have changed. Hit the jump to see how.
Starting curiously around the time that Jordan started posting his documentary entitled, Happy Hudler’s Magical Myster Globe Trotting Adventures, the puck’s been going in for Happy…a lot. His 17 goals is second on Detroit this season and has scored a few pretty ones as well. In fact, he has 8 more goals than Zetterberg at this point in the season (that hurt to write).
But the best news is that his shot is back, with a vengence. Ask Luongo about Happy’s snapper (whoa…that that how you will.) That dangerous weapon is going to be needed in the playoffs.
And this is good, because Hudler is one of Detroit’s few pure goal scorers. Can’t ever have too many Happys.
Now we should start the search for Detroit’s other pure goal scorer. Anyone seen a Mule?
