Predators vs Red Wings Recap: 22 and Counting

This was by all accounts a playoff game for both teams tonight. Pavel Datsyuk has hit a level of skill that 99.9% of NHL players only wish they could achieve. I have never seen a player so dominate at both ends of the ice the way Datsyuk is. Pittsburgh can have Malkin, and Washington, Ovechkin. They don’t come close to being as valuable as Pavel.

Recap after the jump

NOHS Three Stars of the Game:

First Star: Pavel Datsyuk. 5 shots, 5 takeaways, and assist and the game winner with 5.8 seconds left, it doesn’t get any better than that

Second Star: Henrik Zetterberg. Just for showing up tonight while not 100% and giving us everything hes got. He also added another point

Third Star: Johan Franzen. He only played 13 minutes tonight, but made them count. Looks like Josh’s poster worked.

NOHS Favorite Moment of the Game: Extending the streak in the final seconds of the game and hearing the home crowd go totally insane. This team is special. We are witness to one of the most dominate teams in NHL history. I can’t wait to see what they do when they flip the proverbial playoff switch.

Next game is Sunday vs the Sharks on NBC. Puck drops at 12:30 pm
