So we have the San Jose Sharks rolling into Joe Louis today. But with the trade deadline approaching on February 27th – there’s bound to be some rumors floating around to act as lovely little distractions.
Here’s one from The News Herald:
Just a day after asking him to waive his limited no-trade clause, the Tampa Bay Lightning may have found a suitor for defenseman Pavel Kubina: the Detroit Red Wings.
A source confirmed to The Macomb Daily on Friday night that the Wings have made an offer to the Lightning for Kubina. Details of the offer aren’t known.
Anyone see this one coming? I sure didn’t. Kubina ended up going to the Flyers…but I’m surprised the Wings went after him.
Make the jump for more details.
“I’m very comfortable with this team. I always have a wish list. I do in the summer and I do in the winter. Bottom line is we’ve got a good team.” –Mike Babcock
Interesting that the Wings would target another defensemen…all us fans had been lobbying for some scoring up front. Perhaps they’re looking for someone to replace Brad Stuart should he jump ship at season’s end?
“There are always going to be rumors, especially as we get closer to the trade deadline. More rumors will pop up. It’s entertaining sometimes, but some of them you can’t take too seriously.” –Nick Lidstrom
Interesting…don’t you think?
