Detroit vs Philadelphia: Cheesesteaks!!!

The Flyers come to town tonight in what could be a night to remember at the Joe. The Red Wings are one win away from tying an NHL record for consecutive home wins, which rests largely on the shoulders of Joey MacDonald who has an impressive 1.57 GAA and .935 Sv% in his four games this season.

Puck drops at 7:30pm on NBCSN

The more I talk about how Macdaddy MacDonald isn’t the right choice for the Red Wings backup the better he plays. So, I think MacDonald is horrible and should not be our backup.

We don’t play Philly often, but when we do it’s generally a very tough game, or we sweep them out of the finals. To add to the home win streak lore is that the Flyers are the team that holds the modern era record set in 1975-76.

Nick Lidstrom will move into 2nd place all-time on the games played in a Red Wings sweater tonight, passing Alex Delveccio with his 1,550th game played. He will also own the record for most games played in NHL history for spending his entire career with one team.

Claude Giroux is good.

The Flyers are 1-3-1 in their last five, and 4-3-3 in their last 10. They also played last night and lost 5-2 to the Rangers. It could go one of two ways, either they are tired from last night, or they are out for blood the redeem themselves. I’m hoping for tired.
