The Flames are sitting in 11th place, but only 3 points out of the final spot in the west. They have done a bit of tweaking to their lineup over the last week shipping Rene Bourque off to Montreal for Mike Cammalleri, and Brendan Morrison to Chicago for Brian Connelly.

Detroit will put Wednesday’s game in Montreal behind them and focus on the schedule ahead. They enter tonight as the top team in the league, and would like to keep it that way.

32 games left, 18 of them at home, and 13 until the trade deadline. It’s going to be a battle to the end in the Central with the losers most likely stuck in the 4-5-6 seeds.

A Milestone of interest tonight other than Bertuzzi needing 1 goal to reach 300, are Miikka Kiprusoff playing in his 526th game, tying him with our good buddy Mike Vernon for games played by a Calgary goalie.

Jarome Iginla will be playing in his 1,157th game tonight. Why that is significant? Well, that ties him with Kris Draper on that all-time games played list.
