It’s early in the evening and we should all still be reveling in the feat that Detroit accomplished last night.
Sure, we all hope it’s just one stepping stone in the “12 in ’12” Campaign – but this Detroit team has accomplished what NO OTHER TEAM in the HISTORY of the NHL has accomplished. Twenty-one games at Joe Louis arena and twenty-one wins. That’s 42 of 42 poissible points. That means we could have lost EVERY away game this year and we’d still be ahead of Columbus in the Western Conference Standings.
I did a quick search on Youtube and found a video from someone who was actually at the game and had the camera rolling…what a feeling that must have been.

Seems to me like the Joe was rocking with an almost play-off like atmosphere – which might have been what spooked the Dallas Stars (they’re not used to that).
Gotta love the “Joey! Joey! Joey!” chant – we love our winning goalies in Hockeytown.
Nice ovation for our #2 – The Namesake, himself.
And what a crowd reaction for Hank – he had a rough start to the season…but I think Zata is letting everyone know that he’s still interested in inheriting that “C” in a couple years when King Lidas hangs ‘em up.
‘Twas a magical Valentine’s Day.
