Standings Watch Part One

So we’re still waiting around to see what’s up with Rafalski and Datsyuk (I’m looking at YOU, beat writers).  So why not take a look at the standings as they are heading into tonight’s action:

Check that out.  It is looking more and more like those last two games are going to decide where Chicago lands in the standings.  Last year, we knocked them off of the top seat of the West and climbed to fourth.  Who knows where they’ll be heading into that last weekend.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, EVERYONE in Chicago is scared stupid of playing Detroit in the first round.  I pitched that idea at my early morning skate…and you could hear a pin drop on that bench.

In other news, Nashville is still hanging in there.  With Trotz behind the bench, I’d be shocked if Bubba doesn’t at least overtake Calgary if not Chicago.  The Blackhawks play six of the last eleven games on the road while Nashville has almost all home games (how did that happen?) down the stretch.

The Ducks are still lying in the weeds too.  Only three points behind the Stars and a game in hand – don’t be surprised if the Ducks squeak their way in…which is annoying.

Right now, we need to focus on our own business, but it never hurts to check the rear view mirror everyone once in a while.

So who do you want to see round one?
