Ken Daniels – Broadcaster of the Year

We have another award winner on the Red Wings team, except this fellow doesn’t lace up his skates for a living.

Our beloved play-by-play guy, Ken Daniels, has been annouced as Michigan Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

According to Khan:

It is the second such honor for Daniels, who also earned the NSSA award in 2003.

Daniels, in his 14th season with FOX Sports Detroit, is among the 110 state sportscasters and sportswriters from 49 states and the District of Columbia who will be honored during the NSSA’s 52nd Annual Awards Weekend, May 14-16 at the organization’s headquarters in Salisbury, N.C.

All I know is that whenever Center Ice only has the opposing feed on, I miss our boys Ken and Mick more than Gary misses Sidney when he’s off on the road.  We truly are lucky to have two of the most entertaining and down to earth broadcasters who really enjoy the game.

And you know, for all the sh!t we give him, Larry Murphy isn’t so bad either.

Congrats Ken.
