Everyone has Trades! Trades, Trades, Trades!

The Red Wings franchise turned 85 today. Last night they played like it. Something needs to change with this team. I think firing the coach is out, so it will have to be a trade.

This post will likely make me sound insane and make you hate me as I consider the possibility of trading someone you like. Just hear me out. By the way, I used a picture of Hudler in a post involving trades just to see if I could get Chris to punch me through the internet. I’ll keep you all posted.

If it was up to me, the following players would be a lock to stay in Detroit:

Lidstrom (duh)

After that, let a trade happen as long as we get something decent in return. Franzen has the potential to be a 40 goal scorer if he stays healthy, but he’s streaky. When he’s off, he’s way off. I would support trading Mule if we got a known 40 goal scorer in return. Someone like Rick Nash or Jerome Iginla. Of course, we’d be adding some cap hit by taking on guys like that, so I’d also like to see Big Rig go along with Franzen so Mule doesn’t have to carry his own bags. to make the trade even better for us. to sweeten the pot.

What it comes down to is, we don’t have a consistent goal scorer right now. What we do have is a bunch of guys who are slumping. In order to wake them up, something has to rock the franchise. I’ve grown very attached to all of these guys, but i’d rather see the team win the Stanley Cup with the help of a couple “outsiders” than watch them line up for another depressing round of handshakes in May.

They have shown that they have what it takes to win games and beat good teams, but not consistently. So far this year, they’ve become a team of Robert Langs. I know it’s only November, but last month it was only October. Next month it will only be December.

So here’s my question for you:

If you could make a trade, who would go and who would you bring in? I’m talking about the type of trade that rocks the league and makes everyone take notice. Not grinder for grinder, or 3rd round pick for a 5-6 defensemen. I mean crazy stuff like Franzen, Ericsson, Ferraro and two 1st round picks for Ovechkin. Show us what you’ve got.
