Raf/Eaves Out Tonight

winged_wheel“We’re set up to have success.  We just had three of four days off. There’s no reason we don’t get engaged here and get playing. You have to, all you got to do is look at the West. You start the playoffs, if you’re fortunate enough to be in it, 15 days later a whole bunch of teams are going home already.  Anybody’s who’s been around this team a while knows what winning’s like, knows what it tastes like, knows what it feels like, knows what it smells like. So we want to get that feel, that taste, that smell back. So we have an opportunity to do it.” –Mike Babcock

That quote via Khan(!).  Detroit has lost its last three games and hasn’t been very stellar at home this season (18-11-3).  The Sharks are only two points behind Detroit for the #2 spot in the West and our little brother from Chicago is creeping up on us and sits only six points back.  It’s time to get this ship righted.  And we’ll try and do it against the Los Angeles Kings tonight.

Not in the lineup tonight will be Brian Rafalski, Patrick Eaves, and Chris Osgood.  Rafalski is still suffering from back spasms.  Eaves’s groin is still not ready to go and Ozzie is still recovering from his sports hernia surgery…but is close to be being back.

“He practiced quite a bit, I noticed he was in the net quite a bit. Mac and him were sharing it, so obviously things are going in the right direction.” –Mike Babcock

The last time Detroit played the Kings (the last time we even won a game). they put up seven goals….they’ve scored a combined six goals in the three games since.

Enough is enough.
