Well…that was a surprisingly easy looking game. The Red Wings are now 1-1-0 without Pavel Datsyuk in the lineup. Jakub Kindl returned to the lineup as Ruslan Salei was scratched.
It was penalties galore in this one, as a total of 28 minutes in penalties (no fights) were dished out. Eight minor penalties were called in the first period alone.
Hank and Nik Jr. had a couple of points a piece, while Cleary continues to roll, scoring his 16th of the season. But yet again, Brad “Friend or Foe” Stuart blasted a slapshot off of Cleary’s foot – Cleary continued to play, so hopefully nothing is broken. Drapes got his first goal of the season with a nice tippy and Holmstrom does a pirouette in the crease to score off of Z’s rebound.
Howie didn’t get too much action, but was sharp when called upon. The one regret from this again (aside from Stuart’s shot off Cleary) is failing to get Jimmah! the shutout.
Suck it, Pinky. And thanks for the late Christmas present, Wings.
