Kirk Maltby is either done with the Red Wings, or needs to sign a two-way deal, with the possibility of playing some in Grand Rapids.
Poor Kirk. He’s been a valuable asset for so long, it’s sad to see his career coming to an end. I suppose he could speak to Brad May about being over 35 and signing two-way deals…but there’s almost no chance that Malts will see time as a Red Wing again. The team is too young and too deep for #18.
But if the guy is still willing to play in Grand Rapids after all this time, then god bless him. He could provide invaluable leadership and pointers for all the young kids in Grand Rapids.
