Only three games were played last night that had implications on the Western Conference standings.  You obviously know about the one that Detroit participated in, but let’s take a look at all of them…

For the second time this friggin’ week, the Colorado Avalanche and LA Kings play in one of the dreaded “three point games”.  These two simply love playing at least 60:01 against each other, and I find that very annoying.  Vancouver waxed Anaheim, even without Bobby Lou in net.  The Ducks appear to have no interesting in helping us out, or for that matter, themselves.

Here’s how the standings look as of right now…

So once again, we’re directly behind Nashville.  But, we could pull even with them in points by winning that game in hand that we have on them.  Of course, tying in points isn’t going to do us any good since they have more wins.  So we’re just going to have to pull ahead of them.  Colorado and LA, despite their best collusion efforts to better themselves, are still within reach as well.

9-2-1 since the Olympic Break.  As Mick would say to the replay truck, “Keep ‘er rollin’ guys!”
