Kick ‘Em When They’re Down: Down Goes Denver

winged_wheel

Hey gang.· I’ve been away for a while…but I won’t bore you to tears with details of my move behind enemy lines to the Windy City. However, I will say that in the grand scheme of things, this location and the timeliness of it has to be a 9.5 on the irony scale – moving me to the city of people I hate the most just a few months after their team borrowed the Stanley Cup from Detroit.

But on to more important things and enjoyable things…like how Detroit has been playing in my blogging absence.

Fact #1: Detroit is first in the Central Division (for starters).· Yeah, I’ve been throwing that in the face of any Hawks fan that tries to rub their SC Championship in my face.· “How’s your team doing THIS year? Oh…that’s right…they are THE model of un-sustainable success.”· Ah, there I go getting back into Chicago talk when we’re here to talk about Denver…it’s been a long time stewing (venting about Chicago).

Fact #2: Detroit is first in the Western Conference in Goals For amongst teams that haven’t already played half of their season (like Chicago).· None of the other teams in the West that have played 15 games has more.

Fact #3: Only St. Louis has allowed fewer goals than Detroit thus far in the West.· I said it before and I’ll say it again – if Jimmy Howard can play even close to the level he was at last year when he carried a banged-up squad into the play-offs, Detroit will run over the competition when it’s all said and done this year.

Anyway – I’m trying to get back into the swing of this writing scene, and what better way than an old “Kick ‘Em When They’re Down” post when it’s against a former rival that is just a shadow of its former formidable self.· The Avs are banged up and their organ-i-zation is about as deep as a puddle.· When it’s big news that Adamn Foote is returning to your lineup, you shouldn’t be surprised that your 11th in the Conference. Let’s go to the comments:

These come from Mile High Hockey – I have to admit that I’m a little disappointed the Anyone But Detroit blog went all silent on us…but seriously, who could blame them?

First, let us all remember why it’s still fun to beat up on Denver…because they have fans that post things like this:

I miss the good old days

by Bob in Boulder on Nov 13, 2010 7:42 AM MST··

The good old days, eh Bob?· Like when Colorado was relevant?· The one thing that I do like about this picture is the look on Stevie Y’s face – like he’s ready to penetrate Claude’s optical cavities with his member.· I wonder if Bob misses THESE good old days…

Moving on…

So what reason does Denver have to hate Detroit…oh apparently Todd Bertuzzi did something to some Avalanche player some years ago that they didn’t approve of – and guess what?· He happened to score the game’s opening goal last night…and the Avs fans were PISSED:

f*ck f*ck f*ck bertuzzi f*ck sh*t f*ck

Uh huh…anyone else want to tell us what you think of Dirty Bert potting one on your beloved Dive?

F*CK It had to be Bertuzzi F*ck f*ck f*ck

And why not post this little beauty as a finale – after Cleary made it 3-0…

Should I bother to keep watching :(

Anything is better then watching that Cunt hair tearing us up.

Ah…it always amuses me to be so hated by a team so irrelevant.· This is team is still paying the karma piper for that hit on Draper.

The End….for now.
