Holland Nill Get New Deals Too

Via the Detroit News

Red Wings general manager Ken Holland and assistant GM Jim Nill have signed five-year contract extensions, the team announced Wednesday.

Each had one year remaining on their old contracts. The new deals will carry them through the 2015-16 season.

And thus, the clock begins to tick on Yzerman’s time in Tampa.  Enjoy him Florida…we’ll be taking him back in 2016.

“The main thing is the people, great people, you work with.  From top to bottom, the Ilitches, to Jimmy Devellano, the scouting staff, the coaching staff — it’s an amazing group of people. It’s a great organization to be part of.”— Jim Nill

Now why would anyone want to leave that?  Well…unless they had every intention of coming back.  Welcome back Jim and Kenny…looking forward to another half-decade of the best front office in all of sports.
