San Jose Sharks

The Detroit Red Wings have “The Eurotwins”.  Technically, Pavel Datsyuk is from Russia (which is part of Asia), but we’ll let that slide because of his dangle-dangle ability.

First Round Stats Combined: 11 goals, 8 assists, +8

The San Jose Sharks have “The Big Three” which is a pretty ironic name since Winston Churchill, FDR, and Stalin were famous leaders who stepped it up in times of war.  The only possible similarity here would be Churchill and Heatley’s drinking habits.

First Round Stats Combined: 1 goal, 9 assists, -7

The Detroit Red Wings have Jimmy Howard.  Howard is a Calder Trophy finalist and is already showing veteran like moxy in his ability to respond when called upon.  He also is willing to stop pucks with his bare face if need be.

The San Jose Sharks have Evgeni Nabokov.  He won the Calder Trophy about a decade ago (with worse stats than Jimmy has this year) and doesn’t look like he’s set foot in the sun ever since, even though he lives in sunny SoCal for most of the year.
