Points at this Pace

Here’s my attempt at my own statistical analysis/prognostication.  With the games played thus far in the season, I tried to play around with some numbers to see how our team would finish in the individual point department.  Check this out (and numbers are rounded so easy on the nit-picking with the sums)…

I think that we all know who is what number (Doug Janik is #37).  But as for the other abbreviations that I used:

  • G/G= Goals Per Game Played
  • A/G= Assists Per Game Played
  • G/L= Games Left to be Played…for the injured players, I took a conservative look at when they got hurt and estimated when they would return (March 1 for Franzen, January 1 for Filppula and so on) and then counted how many games were left on the schedule from that date
  • P/G= Projected Goals in Games Left to be Played
  • P/A= Projected Assists in Games Left to be Played
  • P/P= Projected Total Points Games Left to be Played
  • And then the Total is the sum of what they already have and the P/P stat

Take it for what it’s worth, a snapshot with a lot of formulas that will probably have a 0% accuracy rating once the season is over with.  But it might be fun to look back and see how close I came.
